Description

Royal Canin Urinary S/O Pouches for Cats is a nutritionally complete veterinary diet for cats with Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, and to treat kidney stones and bladder problems.

Carefully formulated with a recipe designed to help with the dissolution of struvite uroliths and reduce the acidic pH value of your cat’s urine, Royal Canin Urinary Vet Diet also helps to reduce the risk of recurrent struvite and calcium oxalate urolithiasis.

Key Benefits:

  • Idiopathic Cystitis: The high moisture content of Urinary S/O Pouches increase urine dilution and help avoid recurrent cystitis
  • Struvite Dissolution: Effective dissolves struvite uroliths
  • Low RRS: Low Relative Super Saturation diets encourage an undersaturated urinary environment
  • Urine Dilution: Decreases the urinary concentration of struvite and calcium oxalate crystals, and ensures regular bladder wash-out

I used to buy this for my cat who had previously had surgery for calcium oxalate stones removal and she's been on this food ever since (2+ years).I bought some more recently with expiry date of 4th February 2026 and she now won't eat it.I contacted Royal Canin and they replied saying "Certain sugars have been replaced by yeast in the formulation of Urinary Moderate Calorie. Whilst this change may impact the appearance of the product (thicker consistency and paler appearance) and in some cases the aroma, it does not impact the quality, functionality and safety of it.The change in formulation should also not impact the palatability of the product so I am sorry to learn your cat is not wanting to eat the new food which you have received".So the formula has been changed and I shall no longer be buying this because.y cat needs a food she will eat that will stop the stones recurring.Buyer beware.

Joey had a urine infection so I bought this and he loved it - so did the my other kitty Tabitha.

My cat Bailey has been on this food since he was about 1 year old and he is now 11. At the age of 1 he became very ill and had to spend a few days at the vets as he had blood in his urine caused by the crystal build up. The vets recommended that I use Royal Canin Urinary as it would reduce the amount of crystals and hopefully reduce the risk of him getting ill again. After about 6 months I decided to try him back on normal cat food and I very quickly noticed a change in his behaviour and he seemed to be getting uncomfortable when going to the toilet. I therefore put him back on the Royal Canin sachets and he quickly returned to his playful self. I would recommend having the Royal Canin wet sachets as well as the Royal Canin Urinary dry food. I say this because for a long time I fed my cat the wet sachets only and the condition of his teeth deteriorated. I was recommended to feed him some dry food as this would help to look after his teeth. I thought only having 2 flavours of the wet food would make my cat become fed up with them but he hasn't, he loves his food and both flavours!

We used this food for about a year after our cats first bout of cystitis without recurrence. We changed him back to a normal brand diet after that and within a few months we were back at the vet with him again!! He's now been on it for a few years, healthy, slim and urinary-symptom free!

One of the few urinary meat pouches that does different flavours, and my cat likes them both. He's not had any problems since being on this food either!
