Recently purchased this renal diet food as the usual food I purchase was out of stock. My dog will eat most renal diet foods but will not touch this. This food is actually a Mousse type food. It is very thick and gloopy just like a thick chocolate mousse, it has a very pungent smell and is unlike any dog food I have ever seen. It is so thick that it sticks to whatever utensil i use to get it out of the tin. I have scoured the label and nowhere on it does it say that this is a Mousse food. However on the Pets at Home site it is listed as Purina PRO PLAN Vet Diet Canine NF Renal Function Mousse Dog Food. Had I known it was a Mousse food I wouldn't have purchased it. I have 22 tins left which my dog will not eat.

This product contains approx. 5.9% high quality protein and a LOT of water. Some people are put off by this water content but they don't realise how important the moisture content contained in the food is. KD needs water to flush out the kidneys and this is the ONLY Renal Diet food our dear 14 year old border collie will eat. If push comes to shove, she will eat their kibble too but has flatly refused other diets. Thank you Purina, she loves it and can't wait for her meal times.
