I have used the Adaptil collars for my Collie from October through to January for many years now. They help to take her through the firework season. I also occasionally use them if she seems to be unusually nervous for any length of time. The effect on her is subtle. She still hates fireworks and loud noises of any kind, but she does not cower in a corner and tremble. She merely stomps off upstairs and curls up under my office desk, where she usually sleeps and feels safe. Above all, ten minutes after the fireworks have stopped, she will be downstairs again rather than scared for the whole night. If you are expecting these collars to turn your dog from a timid, nervous dog into a brave dog, forget it. They don't. They just make things a little easier. I usually start with a collar in early October and make sure she has a new one on by the end of October when the fireworks kick off. Again, I make sure she has a new collar on just before New Year.

There has been no noticable change in my dogs behaviour whilst wearing this collar. For me it has been a waste of money. Still it was worth a try. I guess what works for one doesn't always work for another.

my little yorkie hates being on her own,have purchased the collar hoping to calm her,too early to say if it works yet,but def showing signs of improvement, she does scratch the collar a lot but will persevere!

I was very surprised at how well Adaptil works. It has really calmed my dog down, she is much more chilled. When in the car she used to get very stressed and whine and move about a lot, now she still moves a little but doesn't whine so much. Definately recommended.

Adaptil really works on my very nervous 10 months old puppy.
