We normally feed our cat either Hills Senior Mature Light or Royal Canin Light but he was getting very bored with both these foods so we decided to switch him to Pro Plan light for a time. However, despite feeding him the absolute lowest amount recommended for weight loss he has put on a significant amount of weight since switching him to Pro Plan! He has also been much hungrier than he is on either of the other foods and is begging for food much of the time. I should hasten to add we do not feed him just because he is hungry and he only ever receives the daily recommended amount, so this is not the reason for the weight gain. We deliberately feed light foods because our cat has trouble maintaining a healthy weight and weight gain is certainly not what we were looking for. My 2* review is designed to reflect the fact that although this is supposed to be a weight loss/maintenance diet, I do not feel it is as good as either Hills or Royal Canin and the feeding guide should be viewed with caution.
