Like everyone else has said this product is no longer what it used to be since it was "reformulated". It doesn't last anywhere near as long as the old one. Plus it doesn't seem to work any longer (my vet originally suggested it to help with anal gland problems). Since they changed it I have noticed the old gland problems are back. All it seems to do is create enormous poohs. I will not be buying this any more and I'm going to feedback to my vet as they are still selling it.

As everybody else has noted - the 500g pot does not last as long as the 800g. I have also noticed how much wheat is in this product. This can be an irritant to the gut so I will not be purchasing again as I buy gluten free dog food to avoid that problem.

I have bought this from VetUK for quite a few years ever since it was prescribed by my vet for anal gland problems. It also helps with a sensitive tummy.. However I am disappointed with it now, protexin have changed the formula.. My dog is very reluctant to eat it. It is a dark green colour too! Not sure about how long it lasts as I use less as they said so haven't finished the pot yet.Why oh why do manufacturers change what works.?

I have used this product for some considerable time for my dog and it has been brilliant, however, the new tub size does not last nearly as long and does not appear to work so well. I am considering whether to continue using it or see if there is any other product on the market that would do the same job.

I was assured the new product would last as long so I carefully compared the two sizes over a couple of months. Result? There were 18 measures (at least) fewer servings from the new size (even using the new smaller measure). Really rather a cheat. A pity as otherwise it is a good product.

I agree this pot does not last as long and I feel that it is rather misleading to say it does, I need to buy it for my dog :(

I actually like this product and will continue to buy it but I would like to point out that the 500g pot does NOT last as long as the 800g pot. The scoop size is exactly the same as is the dosage (at least for my small dog).

Our rescue Dog, Mitch, arrived to us with terrible tummy problems. This was recommended to us by our vet and we have used it ever since. He is so much better on the pro fibre, though we always know when we have forgotten to give it to him.

I discovered this product after ploughing through forums looking for ideas and oppinions on repeating puppy runny poos and itchy bum. Fantastic results and I only give the pup about a quarter of a measure with his breakfast, he has nice big stools most of the time and his glands are much better no embarrasing itchy bum.

I have used this product for my german shepherds and it has helped ensure that their anal glands work properly. Any gut issues they had previously have improved immensely. I have recommended this product to my friends.

I only discovered this product by chance when I went to a different veterinary surgery. It has helped my rescue dog with her anal gland problems. I had to take her to the vet every 8 days to have her anal sacs emptied when I first got her. Now it has been over a year. I am certain this product has helped along with lots of exercise.

This has really helped my assistance dog and we can now happyly go into shops, resturants again without embarrasment.

I started buying this 6 months ago after advice to help my dogs anal glands problems to give 'larger bulky stools' I can only say that it has helped with the problem greatly along with other dietry changes so can only recommend it through my experience and will continue to purchase it if I think it is making a difference which it is.

I am a bit disappointed that the product contains artificial beef flavouring, there is also no info what ingredients the product contains. Knowing what ingredients are in products certainly influences what i purchase, i have rated it 2 star because of the artificial flavouring in it.

This appears to have sorted out all digestive problems in our 2 cats! They regularly have this added to their wet food with a little olive oil and (touch wood) no more trouble. Both are only just turned 4 and both had bowel problems which the vet said were tricky to properly diagnose. Internet searching told me maybe lack of fibre was a problem, hence why used this. I have looked around for other products before finding this one and this seems to be the best by far containing fibre, pre-biotics and pro-biotics - haven't found all 3 in one product since. I'm hoping this has permanently cured their troubles - fingers crossed.
